Today, we went to Erm’s parents’ house to make wine! When we got there, I couldn’t help but notice this cute wagon full of butternut squash that my father-in-law grew in his garden.
Isn’t that cute?
Then we got right down to the business of makin’ some wine. Here’s how you make wine:
Obtain many boxes of grapes
Then, behold The Beast
That thing is no joke. It could crush your finger.
Next, fill The Beast with grapes
Then, pass the grapes through The Beast to smush them, dropping all juices, pulp, skins, etc into the barrel
Add some white grapes for good measure, and behold your handiwork
Then, see that juice? On the left?
You cover the barrels so that can ferment and heat up to a boil for about 10 days.
Then you go outside and check out the mess you made of yourself.
My warmup pants will never be the same… but I’m going to have some awesome wine for the next year
Part 2 coming soon!

Oh my, that is awesome that you’re making your own wine!
